We are thrilled to introduce an exciting opportunity that not only benefits our team, but also helps to earn those Parent Participation Program Points ;)

HHAC Officiating Requirements: HHAC has a long-standing tradition of requiring at least one member of each family to become an Official.  

Why do I need to become a Swim Meet Official?

• Host Meets Locally: A very important goal this year for HHAC is to host a swim meet! Your involvement allows us to host meets at our pool, saving us from traveling to other clubs. It's a win-win situation as we showcase our team and strengthen our swim community bonds.
• Hold Time Trials: With more officials on board, we can conduct regular time trials, giving our swimmers more opportunities to track their growth and achieve Personal Bests (PB's).
• Required for swim meets: Swim meets run with the help of volunteers. HHAC is expected to bring volunteer officials and timers to all swim meets that are attended.

Here's how you can dive right in:

Step 1: One Parent or Guardian from a family must Register as an Official and complete the Level One course, as outlined in the HHAC handbook.

• Please email hhac.clubofficialchair@gmail.com to let HHAC's Club Official Chair (COC) know that you are interested in registering for a Level 1 Official. 
• We will create an account for you and send you a link to your new Swim Ontario Official's account. 
• You'll also receive an email containing the link to sign up for the Level One Officials E-Modules (Timer and Safety Marshal).

Step 2: Complete 2 on deck evaluations (these are FUN!) at upcoming swim meets. This hands-on experience will provide valuable insights and ensure that you are fully prepared to take on your official duties with confidence. 

• Prior to the meet, bring a paper copy of the On-Deck Evaluation Form. This form is essential for recording your on-deck evaluations and tracking your progress. It will also need to be submitted to the COC to record your on deck evaluations.
